Why this Brownie Camera?

Before this, photography belonged to professionals: heavy equipment, glass plates, a darkroom, and considerable expense. Then came a camera simple enough for anyone to use. Point it, click the shutter, wind it on. No training required.

It was affordable and did one job well, which was enough to change everything. Suddenly ordinary people were photographing ordinary things: birthdays, holidays, the dog, each other. The family album, as most of us know it, starts here.

It wasn't the best camera ever made. It was simply the first one everyone could afford, and that turned out to matter more.

Every detail has been carefully recreated from original reference material, capturing the simple design that put photography within everyone's reach.

Building is part of the experience. Every Curious Rabbit kit is designed to be rewarding from the very first piece, with precision-cut parts that fit together beautifully. Take your time, enjoy the process, and create something that's uniquely yours.

Every design begins in our workshop.

Before You Build

Dispatched within 1–3 working days and sent using a tracked service with Evri or Royal Mail. Standard delivery typically takes 2–4 working days after dispatch.

We currently deliver within the UK only.

Handle pieces carefully during assembly, and your finished model with the same care.
Allow glue and paint to fully cure (typically around 24 hours) before regular handling.
Keep your model dry and away from prolonged direct sunlight to help preserve its finish.
Dust occasionally with a soft brush or dry microfibre cloth to keep it looking its best.

Contains small parts and glue. Recommended for ages 14+. Adult supervision is advised for younger builders. Use glue in a well-ventilated area and follow the instructions provided.

Kits are supplied unpainted and unassembled, ready for you to build and personalise.

Paint is not included, nor are any tools, props or decorative accessories shown in our photography unless specifically stated.

We reserve the right to refuse personalisation requests containing offensive or inappropriate wording. Any affected order will be refunded in full before production begins.
