ACT I · THE STORY

Why this Welsh Dragon?

Legend has it that beneath the hillside at Dinas Emrys, two dragons lay sleeping: one red, one white. When they woke, they fought fiercely, and the red dragon prevailed. The story has been told for well over a thousand years, and from it grew one of the world's most distinctive national symbols.

By the seventh century, the red dragon had become associated with Cadwaladr, King of Gwynedd. Centuries later it was carried by Owain Glyndŵr during his rebellion, and by Henry Tudor as he marched through Wales before the Battle of Bosworth. Although the flag we know today was only officially recognised in 1959, the dragon had already become inseparable from Wales centuries before.

It's carried on rugby shirts, on castle walls, on the sides of buildings in every town in Wales, including the one this workshop calls home.

"Yma o hyd! Cymru am byth!"

ACT II · THE EXPERIENCE

Enjoy the Build

Building is part of the experience. Every Curious Rabbit kit is designed to be rewarding from the very first piece, with precision-cut parts that fit together beautifully. Take your time, enjoy the process, and create something that's uniquely yours.

From the workshop

Long before a model arrives on your doorstep, it begins here.

Ideas become sketches, sketches become prototypes, and prototypes become the finished models you see in our collection. Every detail is carefully considered, tested and refined before a design finds its place under the Curious Rabbit name.
