Why this Skip?

Before the builder's skip, clearing a house meant countless journeys with horse-drawn carts, each one making the long trip to the rubbish tip before returning to begin again. In 1922, Edwin Walker helped solve the problem with a simple idea: leave the container where the work is happening, then lift the whole thing onto a lorry when it's full. More than a century later, the shape is still instantly recognisable, and the idea still works.

Since then, the builder's skip has become a familiar sight outside homes across Britain. It appears before the new kitchen, before the loft conversion, before the extension, patiently collecting the old to make room for whatever comes next. Few objects are so closely associated with hard work, yet so rarely noticed in their own right.

Every panel, angle and proportion has been carefully recreated, capturing one of Britain's most recognisable pieces of everyday engineering in miniature.

Before You Build

Dispatched within 1–3 working days and sent using a tracked service with Evri or Royal Mail. Standard delivery typically takes 2–4 working days after dispatch.

We currently deliver within the UK only.

Handle pieces carefully during assembly, and your finished model with the same care.
Allow glue and paint to fully cure (typically around 24 hours) before regular handling.
Keep your model dry and away from prolonged direct sunlight to help preserve its finish.
Dust occasionally with a soft brush or dry microfibre cloth to keep it looking its best.

Contains small parts and glue. Recommended for ages 14+. Adult supervision is advised for younger builders. Use glue in a well-ventilated area and follow the instructions provided.

Kits are supplied unpainted and unassembled, ready for you to build and personalise.

Paint is not included, nor are any tools, props or decorative accessories shown in our photography unless specifically stated.

We reserve the right to refuse personalisation requests containing offensive or inappropriate wording. Any affected order will be refunded in full before production begins.
